This is regarding World of Warcraft. I just reformatted my computer for the first time in 14 months to get everything fresh again. Everything is working for the most part. I was able to access 1920x1200 (wide) resolution in WoW with the Plug and Play driver for my monitor. I install the monitor's driver, and now the highest resolution I can access in-game is 1680x1050 (wide).
How do I keep my new driver and access the monitor's native resolution of 1920x1200 (wide) in WoW? Monitor: LG FLATRON W2452T (24-inch widescreen LCD). I can assume that other applications and/or desktop resolution can still select and use the 1920x1200 wide? If it is an issue with only World of Warcraft not recognizing the resolution of the monitor then I would say that its not an issue with the driver or monitor but that of the game. You may try making a post on the WoW support forums and see what comes up. If you can't use 1920x1200 in any application then I would suspect a driver issue, possibly just the wrong driver got installed or the most current revision is having some type of issue. You could try installing an older version of the driver and see what happens.
I am unsure how the game identifies the resolutions you can use, I can only assume it gets it from the driver. The fact that you could select it before the driver install and not after leads me to believe it is a driver issue, I would try installing an older version of the driver and/or verifying the correct driver is installed. Hope this helps.

With no LG driver (meaning just the Microsoft Plug and Play driver) installed, everything is fine. I guess I'll just leave it like that. Huh, well, if the driver itself doesn't offer any extra functionality, the Microsoft Plug and Play driver will be just as good so meh.hopefully LG will release a newer version of their driver that fixes the problem.
The main reason I wanted it is because I was hoping it would lessen the screen tearing I get in World of Warcraft, without an option called 'vertical sync' being enabled - this option sets your frame rate as a% of your monitor's refresh rate (60 in my case). I like not having it enabled because then my FPS can go as high as 130+. Oh well, it's either high fps and screen tears or lower fps and no screen tears.

Got a new monitor - LG Flatron W2753V with CD install that provides forteManager (India) application. Works in this Mac Pro - Vista boot option, interfacing with monitor to change contrast etc., etc. In Windows 7, I got the Monitor to be seen as LG W2753VC(Digital) in Device Manager rather than PNP default by directing Update Driver in Device Manager to the CD.inf However the install of forteManager - in all compatbility attempts on Windows 7 results in same window for settings but the visible control selection options do not activate. While there are backlit touch sensitive controls on the bottom of monitor that result in Screen options similar to forte interface, they are next to impossible to use, unlike previous Samsung 225BW Response from LG is: Thank you for contacting LG Customer service. We are here to help provide you with the answers or guidance you need.
If you require further assistance please submit a new request or contact customer service at 1-888-542-2623. Unfortunately the software does not support Windows 7. So, while with muliple boot I can revert to Vista & vary settings that are good for Windows 7, I don't expect to keep Vista much longer. Wondering if anyone has suggestion that would make possible install of forteManager. Maybe something about.inf compatability since forte doesn't want to interface with monitor? Problem solved: WoW I had the same problem with this and windows 7 so here is the fix guys. Install forteManager from the web site run as admin and restart Pc.
Then on the shortcut right click and click on troubleshoot compatablity then trouble shoot program and then select the program worked in early versions. Select Vista sp 1 or 2 then hit the button and There ya go try it now and it all works fine. Your welcome This has worked on alot more drivers. This was kool and hope I helped.
One thing to note - monitor.exe does not exit when closing the window. To try out a new compatibility setting, make sure to close the process with TaskManager after setting a new compatibility mode. I have forteManager now working with Windows 7 (RTM), forteManager 3.15, and an LG Flatron W2353V. I'm using Vista SP2 compatibility. Wow Thank you!
I have the exact same monitor, and your method worked for me! Ending monitor.exe was definitely important, cuz I was trying out the software with different compatibility modes, and none had worked. I have a laptop and I installed the forteManager on it so I could use my LG on it. So my laptop is a w7 64bit and I did the same thing with it and it all works fine.
I do have to close the program on start up and click on the short cut to get it going after I use the laptop screen and then go back to the LG. You need to play around with the compatibility settings and see what you come up with cuz thats all I did. Wish I could help more but ya gota be persistant whaen chasing problems like this. I know it will work if it worked on this ASUS laptop of mine just some settings need to be changed.
Mess with the shortcut thats what made it work for me because it would not work after I had installed it till I set the short cut to the settings I told ya about.
When I go to the LG website and download the Windows 7 driver for the LG Flatron W2361VG-PF my AVG Anti-Virus goes insane saying the Setup.exe file has the virus Win32/Virut in it. Anyone else run into this? What website did you use? When I go to and go to the download section and then list computer items and then displays all I see are owner manuals and the like listed. No drivers or software come up with any search there. Makes me wonder what hole in the wall joint you found 'drivers' at.or what super secret LG site hides such files. Oh, by the way, why are yyou looking for 'drivers' for your monitor anyway?
My LG monitor didnt' need any special 'driver' to work with Windows 7. After doing some more searching I've yet to find any drivers of tis sort from LG offiial sites. I do find LG Display 'drivers' at sites I personally would flag as highly suspect sites to download files from. I've had Windows7-64 bit for the last 9 months and have been unable to find a driver from LG that will give me the resolution that I used to have on my 22' screen. At 1280 X 1024 I should receive much higher resolution.
BTW, the resolution was perfect prior to upgrading to 64bit. When I contacted LG 8 months ago they basically told me to go pound sand. I'm very disappointed in the company, both at their response and their lack of supporting the largest desktop OS in the world. I will never purchase another LG product and encourage all my clients, family and friends to follow suit. I am now shopping for a new large screen monitor - so if you know anyone that supports 64bit I would appreciate your suggestions to save me some time of researching. You shouldn't need a driver for the monotor.
As far as the resolution, make sure you have the current drivers for your graphics card. This should resolve your resolution problem.
In terms of the monitor itself, you can install the one off the disc. Its basically a color profile if you choose to use it. I found it easier to update from the Device Manager manually, and point it towards the CD. R/Click the Monitor in the Monitor Section and choose Update Driver. Then Browse my Computer. Then Browse to the CD/DVD drive as the location.

I tried to connect an LG flatron W2442PE monitor to my HP laptop running windows 7 64 bit professional version through the VGA port. It didn't work, at least not in the resolution I want. Trying to adjust to a higher resolution fails. On the internet I don't find a VGA driver for this screen and I don't believe there is one. Then I bought a cable: displayport - HDMI to connect my laptop from the displayport (an HP specific type of HDMI interface) to the HDMI input on the LG screen.
The result: automatic recognition of the monitor, the resolution I want immediately and. 64 bit operation mode. Conclusion: on my computer with windows 7, an LG display works perfect but not through the VGA port.
